Adventures in the Great Outdoors

Posted on January 1, 2020 by Dave Sulz

If you’re a fan of the great outdoors — and in partcular, the outdoors in a mountain setting — the annual Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour is right up your alley.
The festival will be returning to Lethbridge for its 18th year, showing at the renovated Yates Memorial Centre Jan. 9-11 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday), with films starting at 7 p.m. each evening.
It’s an opportunity for Lethbridge audiences to view some of the best outdoor adventure entertainment in the world, including several films highlighting mountain culture.
Festival organizer Sheila Braund of the Lethbridge Public Library said in a news release, “This year’s program celebrates stories told through the eyes of artists from around the globe — highlighting exciting adventures and remote journeys.”
If you don’t have your tickets yet, they are now on sale only at the Lethbridge Public Library, Main Branch, and are not available online or by phone.
Ticket prices are, for adults, $20 per show or $50 for all three nights; and for seniors 65-plus and children 12 and under, $15 per show or $40 for all three nights.
