In theory, it’s a wonderful idea, considering the yard waste is later composted and then used in city parks.
But a few city residents took advantage of this wonderful program and used the sites as their own personal garbage dumps where they left items such as furniture, paint and electronics. They’re hardly items that are compostable, let alone classified as yard waste, but some folks left them there anyway.

Some plastic, padding and a nylon strap aren’t much on their own, but when combined, they’re a lifesaver.
B.C., Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick have legislation forcing cyclists of all ages to wear bicycle helmets. The fear of being slapped with a ticket for not wearing a helmet obviously works. In Nova Scotia alone, bicycle helmet use increased to 84 per cent from 36 per cent after a helmet law hit its books.
